Peggy Orchowski discusses history of U.S. immigration on Update-1

As National Guard troops deploy along the Mexico border, Update-1 examines the issue of immigration with Peggy Orchowski, a credentialed congressional correspondent for Hispanic Outlook Magazine, based in Washington, D.C., and a senior correspondent for the Georgetowner.

Orchowski, a 19-year member of the National Press Club, has authored "Immigration and the American Dream: Battling the Political Hype and Hysteria" and "The Law That Changed The Face of America: The Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1965." In this interview with NPC Broadcast-Podcast Committee member Lincoln Smith, Orchowski discusses the history of immigration in the United States, the essential basics of immigration and whether citizenship a civil right.
