Owls book Washington Post cartoonist Tom Toles to headline Hoot April 26

Tom Toles, the Pulitzer-Prize winning editorial cartoonist for The Washington Post, will headline the Silver Owls’ Spring Hoot at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in the National Press Club ballroom.

The Hoot is open to all Club members and their guests. Tickets are $35, which covers one of the Club’s superb sit-down dinners, preceded by a cash bar. Reservations can be made at on the Club's website, by calling 202-662-7501 or emailing [email protected].

Toles plans to discuss the current state of the art of editorial and political cartooning. He worked for the Buffalo Courier-Express and the Buffalo News before succeeding The Washington Post’s Herblock in 2002. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1990, the National Cartoonist Society Editorial Cartoon Award in 2003 and the Herblock Prize in 2011. He also plans to sing and play the drums with his rock band, the Suspicious Package. This is his and the band’s second appearance at a Hoot. The last time, in 2015, was a sellout, so early reservations are recommended.
