NPC Newsmaker plans to explore paying to drive in express lanes: What do motorists think?

America THINKS plans to release the results of a survey about the use of "priced managed lanes" at a National Press Club Newsmakers press conference on Monday, April 22 at 10 a.m. in the NPC's Zenger Room.

Press Club Newsmakers are open to members and the working press. No reservations required.

How do motorists feel about paying more to use express lanes on public highways? More and more of them will have to do just that, with more than a dozen "priced managed lanes" projects currently operating across the nation and more than two dozen more in development in large metro areas. America THINKS surveyed 1,000 motorists and the results of that survey will be made public at the event.

Discussing the survey results and the rapidly growing trend toward express lanes and toll roads will be: Diane Gutierriez-Scaccetti, executive director of Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, responsible for the second-largest user-financed transportation system in the nation; Matthew Click of HNTB Corporation, an infrastructure solutions consulting firm; and Patrick D. Jones, executive director and chief executive officer of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association.
