NPC Member Gallo's play to run at Greenbelt Arts Center

National Press Club member Anthony Gallo's play, "Margherita” will be presented by the Greenbelt Arts Center over the next two weekends.

Margherita Sarfatti is universally acknowledged as the "Jewish mother of fascism". She has been portrayed in two motion pictures: The Cradle Will Rock (Susan Sarandon) and Tea with Mussolini (Cher). This historically based, two-act drama examines the 25-year relationship between Margherita Sarfatti and Benito Mussolini between 1911 and 1936 during a three-day encounter in 1939. Margherita, the most influential woman in Benito’s life, is trying to leave the country. He knocks at the door. She is well aware of what he wants. He knows what she wants

Performances will be held in the historic Greenbelt Arts Center July 20 to July 22 and July 27 to July 29. For more information, contact Gallo at [email protected] or http://www.aegallo.com/cu2.html and http://www.greenbeltartscenter.org/Events.asp
