NPC Communicators Dinner with APCO Worldwide CEO Kraus, May 8

APCO Worldwide Founder and Chief Executive Officer Margery Kraus will share her perspective on the public relations industry and how technology, including social media, will influence its future, at an upcoming National Press Club Communicators Dinner.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, in the Winners Room of NPC's Fourth Estate Restaurant.

Kraus started APCO with a single office in Washington in 1984. Today, the firm has more than 30 locations around the world, providing public affairs, communication, and business consulting for major multinational companies and organizations.

A recognized PR industry leader, Kraus has received many prestigious awards, including the PR Power List, Top Women Business Builders, Most Powerful Women in PR and Women Who Mean Business. She also established one of the industry’s earliest corporate responsibility practices and was a pioneer in the development of public-private partnerships.

Before starting APCO, Kraus assisted in the creation and development of the Close Up Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan citizenship education organization sponsored in part by the U.S. Congress. She currently serves on the foundation’s board of directors. She also is a trustee at American University, her alma mater, and sits on the advisory board of the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as the steering committee of the school’s Center for Executive Women.
