National Press Club plans presidential debates viewing parties

Looking for a fun way to experience the presidential debates that begin next month or are you a journalist covering the debates for work or fun? Come watch or cover them with fellow National Press Club members and bring your friends.

There will be a working area for journalists and debates will be shown in the NPC's Reliable Source's Truman Lounge for members only. The debates will also be shown Bloomberg Room, which will be open to the public. Food is available to order from the Truman Lounge and drinks will be available to order from both locations. The event is free and is hosted in a non-partisan atmosphere.

All of the debates are scheduled for 90 minutes beginning at 9 p.m. EST.

The debate schedule is:

First presidential debate on Wednesday, Oct. 3
Topic: Domestic policy
Moderator: Jim Lehrer, host of NewsHour on PBS

Vice-presidential debate on Thursday, Oct. 11
Topic: Foreign and domestic policy
Moderator: Martha Raddatz, ABC News chief foreign correspondent

Second presidential debate on Tuesday, Oct. 16
Topic: Town meeting format including foreign and domestic policy
Moderator: Candy Crowley, CNN chief political correspondent

Third presidential debate on Monday, Oct. 22
Topic: Foreign policy
Moderator: Bob Schieffer, Host of Face the Nation on CBS
