Members' Photo Exhibit Underway, Reception Set for Tonight at 6:30

Photos by National Press Club members portraying people, places, and events worldwide are now on display in the Club's 13th floor lobby. The 19th annual photo exhibit features the work of 46 Club members, exhibiting 52 print photographs and 159 electronic images displayed in slideshows on six computer screens.

Among the show's highlights are White House photographer Christy Bowe's capture of an air-kissing Donald and Melania Trump, while Al Teich's shot taken at the Club catches former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci in a trademark pose. But the print exhibit also portrays people in their daily lives like Carol Morgan's photos of families in D.C.'s Columbia Heights neighborhood, and a nervous student taking part in the National Spelling Bee, caught by Orrin Konheim, a first-time exhibitor.

Most of the members' photos were shot in places other than Washington, such as Darlene Shields's capture of the August 2017 total solar eclipse in Nashville, Denny Gainer's photos of Guatemalan families, and images of sunrise and sunset in New Zealand by Victoria Gaither, also a first-time exhibitor.

A gala reception officially opens the exhibit on Wednesday, Sept, 5, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Bloomberg Room for Club members and guests. The exhibit continues through Sept. 28.
