Media Training Basics, 2-4 pm Dec 4; Free for Members

Just a few seats remain for "Introduction to Media Training," NPC member Adam Konowe's class to empower public relations practitioners and spokespeople to create happy long-term relationships with journalists who cover their organizations on Friday, Dec. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m.

This session will give young professionals, students and others seeking to polish their skills a primer on where media is today and how news happens. Participants will also get tips on how to field inquiries from journalists, interview successfully, and maintain proper attribution and
confidentiality.

Konowe, a vice president of public relations at Sullivan Higdon & Sink, specializes in business-to-business and business-to-government communications. He previously spent more than six years in broadcasting with C-SPAN, BizNet and PBS The Business Channel and is an adjunct professor of communication at American University.
