Mark Leibovich Plans to Discuss NFL book "Big Game" at NPC Book Rap, Oct. 9

Mark Leibovich plans to discuss his book “Big Game: The NFL in Dangerous Times” at a National Press Club Headliners Book Rap at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Tickets are $5 for Club members; $10 public. This event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit NPC Journalism Institute. No outside books or memorabilia are permitted.

Leibovich is The New York Times Magazine's chief national correspondent. His previous books include “This Town: Two Parties and a Funeral-Plus, Plenty of Valet Parking!-in America's Gilded Capital” and “Citizens of the Green Room: Profiles in Courage and Self-Delusion”. He covered the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns and the Obama presidency as the political correspondent for The Times’ Washington bureau.

“Big Game” is an inside look at the NFL over four years. The book follows the NFL through its high point of success into the problems the league has faced more recently, including player health and the current culture wars. During his work on the book Leibovich attended owners' meeting, the draft, was on the sideline for games, spoke with players, owners, and the Commissioner.
