Lewis and Young join "Kalb Report" on March on Washington

Civil rights leaders Rep. John Lewis of Georgia and former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young have been added to the panel for the Aug. 27 “Kalb Report” to talk about the 1963 March on Washington and the significance of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

Lewis also spoke during the march, and Young was an assistant to King.

They join the already scheduled panel members, civil rights leader Julian Bond, PBS NewsHour anchor Gwen Ifill, Morehouse College President Dr. John Wilson and Dorothy Gilliam, the first African-American woman reporter for the Washington Post.

This Kalb Report marks the 50th anniversary of the march and the speech that has become an icon in the advancement of American freedom and justice. Host Marvin Kalb covered the event for CBS News and stood 20 feet from King when he spoke.
