Learn on-camera skills at training class for journalists, 9 a.m. Friday

National Press Club member Andrea McCarren, a veteran multimedia journalist and Emmy Award-winner, will offer an on-camera media training class for journalists this Friday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Bloomberg Room.

The hands-on workshop is for journalists who want to improve their presentation skills on-camera or online. The three-hour session costs $75 for Club members and $150 for non-members.

Through practice interviews in the class, you’ll learn:

- How to craft and deliver meaningful soundbites
- How to be more comfortable and confident on camera
- What to wear and what not to wear
- Tricks of the trade from McCarren's 30 years of experience in television news

After the training session, you'll be able to access your practice interviews online. A crew from the Club's Broadcast Center will be present to film your on-camera work.
