Last cookbook, wine dinner before summer hiatus features Potomac chef, June 5

The Fourth Estate restaurant will host a cookbook and wine dinner Tuesday, June 5, featuring Potomac, Md., native Jennifer Segal, author of “The Once Upon a Chef Cookbook: 100 Tested, Perfected, and Family-Approved Recipes.”

Hors d'oeuvres and a specialty cocktail from the cookbook, Segal's recipe for [Tipsy] Pink Lemonade, will be served at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served from 7-9 p.m.

Tickets are $85/single, $80 each/couples, and include a copy of the book. National Press Club members receive a 15% discount ($68 and $136). Couples receive one copy of the book. Register online.

Segal is the founder of Once Upon a Chef, a popular blog that showcases easy home recipes from a chef’s point of view.

Segal honed her craft at L'Auberge Chez Francois in Great Falls, Va., and has directed marketing for other restaurants. Her recipes have been featured in the Huffington Post and on WJLA’s "Good Morning Washington" and Parade.com. Wines will be paired with every course; the exact vintner is to be determined.
