Kalb plans book discussion on war decision making as Congress debates Syria

As President Barack Obama seeks congressional authorization to launch missiles into Syria, journalist Marvin Kalb has written a timely new book, The Road to War: Presidential Commitments Honored and Betrayed.

Kalb and Sam Litzinger will discuss the book at the National Press Club on Monday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m.

This is a ticketed event and registration is required here. The event is a fundraiser for the NPC Journalism Institute. No outside books or memorabilia permitted. All sales are final; no refunds will be issued.

Kalb's book explores how the decision-making process leading to military action has evolved since World War II -- and how it has affected the nation and the world.

Kalb is the Edward R.
