Inside look at Freedom Caucus at Headliners Luncheon Monday

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C. chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, warned Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. that supporting the opponent of a Freedom Caucus Member in an upcoming special election in Alabama was not "prudent," The Hill reported July 13.

Meadows is the featured speaker at a National Press Club Headliners Luncheon Monday in the Holeman Lounge. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for Club members (members may purchase two tickets at this rate) and $39 for all other non-member tickets. Members of the Freedom Caucus, the most conservative members of the House, played a major role in the debate over repealing the Affordable Care Act. Meadows plans to provide an inside look at the caucus as he outlines its inner workings, deliberations, philosophical approach, and some other aspects that never made headlines.

Meadows is in his third term in Congress and has representedNorth Carolina’s 11th District since January 2013, after a 27-year career as a small-business owner. He serves on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, where he chairs the Government Operations Subcommittee. He also serves on the House Foreign Affairs and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.

To submit a question in advance, put MEADOWS in the subject line and email to [email protected] before 10 a.m. on the day of the Luncheon.
