Goodwill to announce job initiative for female veterans at Newsmaker, June 20 at 10 a.m.

Goodwill will launch a new initiative to expand its support of military veterans at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20 at at a National Press Club Newsmaker news conference in the Club's Murrow Room.

Goodwill will help 3,000 women veterans in the next two years find jobs and address the challenges they experience as they return home.

Announcing the new initiative and discussing the unique challenges facing women veterans seeking employment will be: Jim Gibbons, president and CEO, Goodwill Industries International; Assistant Secretary Keith Kelly, Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS), U.S. Department of Labor, and Toni Meador, a Navy veteran who was seriously injured and subjected to sexual trauma during her service and who was able to become self-sufficient in the civilian world with assistance from Goodwill.
