Get It Online Series showcases social media, C-Suite at Oct. 4 breakfast

Senior executives are using social media to define their personal brand and achieve results. To find out how, join fellow Communicator members and Vocus' social-media manager Stacey Miller for a special "Get It Online" series breakfast from 8:30 - 10 a.m. on Oct. 4 in the National Press Club's Truman Lounge.

The event is hosted by the NPC's Communications and Marketing and Events Committees. There is no charge for Press Club members and, as always, breakfast is complimentary in the NPC's Reliable Source. Members may register their guests for $10.

According to the 2012 Fortune 500 Social CEO Index, chief executive officers lag far behind the general population in terms of overall social-media participation. Members of the C-Suite, using social media can build their personal brand and create opportunities for their companies. A personal brand is what people see when they view someone professionally. Just like a product brand delivers sales, a personal 'X-factor' delivers opportunities, new contacts, bigger projects and more influence. Stacey Miller, Vocus social-media manager, plans to discuss everything executives need to start a personal brand that exhibits strong leadership, credible industry expertise and most importantly, results.

Miller is a keynote speaker and her writing has appeared in Forbes, American Express Open Forum and the Washington Business Journal. In 2012, Oracle named Stacey a finalist for its Community Manager of the Year Award. A frequent advisor to industry marketing executives, Stacey has consulted on social media strategy for everyone from beginners to CEOs.
