Get on-camera training at workshop with TV pro, June 27

Mid-career journalists can get on-camera training on Saturday, July 27 from 10 am. to noon at the National Press Club's Broadcast Operations Center on the 4th floor.

NPC member and veteran television reporter Andrea McCarren will conduct the training.

The training costs $25 for NPC members and $50 for non-members. Registration is required. Click here to register.

This is a great opportunity for mid-career journalists to learn or improve their on-camera skills in an intensive 2-hour hands-on workshop. Through “mock interviews,” you’ll learn:

  • How to craft and deliver meaningful sound bytes for taped and live interviews

  • How to be more comfortable and confident on camera

  • What to wear and what not to wear for your television appearances

  • Tricks of the trade from McCarren’s 30 years of experience in TV newsrooms

McCarren’s current media training clients include print, radio and online journalists from such major media outlets as USA Today, Reuters, and McGraw-Hill. Class size is limited, so register today.

This program is made possible by a generous grant from the Scripps Howard Foundation. All sales are final; no refunds will be issued.
