Popular Italian cookbook author Domenica Marchetti will sign her latest book and host a five-course dinner on Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Fourth Estate restaurant.
The dinner will draw from her latest cookbook, The Glorious Vegetables of Italy, and will include Italian wines, such as Piemonte and Sardenga, specially paired with the dishes. The menu is listed below.
National Press Club members can purchase tickets for $150 per couple and $80 per single. Non-member tickets are $170 per couple and $90 for per single. Tickets include tax, tip and one signed cookbook.
Each ticket includes a signed copy of the cookbook; couples receive one book. Members must be signed in to the Club website with a membership number and password to get the discount.
This is Marchetti’s fourth cookbook. She signed books in November at the National Press Club Book Fair, where she also offered samples of the Orange Polenta Cake that will be featured at the Jan. 23 dinner.
Her other cookbooks include The Glorious Pastas of Italy, Big Night In and The Glorious Soups and Stew of Italy. The newest cookbook features 270 pages of recipes and photographs by San Francisco photographer Sang Anis.
The Glorious Vegetables of Italy was recently named by the New York Times as one of 2013’s notable cookbooks. Ron Brooks has also put together some stellar pairings of Italian wines.
