Fourth Estate debuts new menu items on Feb. 2

Saturday, Feb. 2, may be Groundhog Day but that does not mean the day will repeat itself ad infinitum like a Bill Murray nightmare. The Fourth Estate Brunch menu has been revamped and several new items will be available.

The Fourth Estate serves brunch, rather than lunch, every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Reservations are requested at OpenTable.com or 202.662.7638. Parking validation at the 24 hour PMI garage on G street, near 13th street, is available for $10.

The new menu additions feature 100 percent pure maple syrup served with the French toast, oatmeal and waffles, some gluten free and vegan items and low fat yogurt. As usual, Bloody Marys and Mimosas, along with full bar service, are also available.

New items include Churros with European drinking chocolate, a vegan rice bowl, steak and eggs, Greek salad and a jumbo lump crab cake benedict with Hollandaise. The restaurant is now also offering three different burgers. One is a certified Angus beef burger. The other two are vegan burgers -- beyond burger and a black bean/roasted corn burger.

Some perennial favorites remain, including three types of omelettes, one featuring lobster and brie, fried chicken and waffles and a smoked salmon toasted bagel with all the fixings. Juices, pressed pot coffee, espresso and cappuccino are also available.
