A first-hand account of covering the Trump administration

On the latest edition of Update-1, the National Press Club's podcast, Bloomberg News White House correspondent Margaret Talev discusses how to do your job when the president of the United States disses the news media while his fans at rallies scream at the reporters in the press row.

Talev, who just completed a year as president of the White House Correspondents Association, describes life in the White House's cramped press center and how she deals with correcting misstatements from high places.

Talev reported for newspapers from Florida to California before joining the McClatchy Washington bureau and then Bloomberg News.

The interviewer is Club Broadcast/Podcast Committee member Irv Chapman.

Update-1 is produced by Mike Hempen. The podcast can be heard on the Club website or on iTunes, Stitcher and TuneIn.
