Cuban historian to offer look into Old Havana at Club event, Sept. 12

Havana City Historian Eusebio Leal Spengler, director of the Old Havana Cuban Restoration Program, will describe the preservation, restoration and transformation of Cuba's capital city at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at the National Press Club.

Leal, who will be joined by other Cuban officials, has been recognized internationally for his vision for the historical center of Havana and has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. A politician as well as a historian, Leal has served as a member of the Cuban National Assembly. He is the author of numerous books, including "Going Back in time" and "The Lost Diary."
