A career in writing: From journalism to fiction

Tom Young is a former Associated Press broadcast editor and reporter who has leveraged an accomplished military and commercial aviation career to write fiction and non-fiction.

In the latest episode of Update-1, National Press Club Broadcast/Podcast Team member Adam Konowe asks Young about making the jump from journalism to fiction, as well as his perspective on media coverage of global conflicts and commercial airline incidents. Young also shares his approach to writing fiction and what would-be authors should know before they try their hand at it.

Update-1 is produced by Mike Hempen. In addition to the Club website, the podcast can be found on iTunes, Sticher and Tunein.
