Durocher’s career covered several baseball eras beginning with Babe Ruth and continuing through the Vietnam War -- a period of 40 years. He served as manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, Chicago Cubs and the Houston Astros. He had entry into Hollywood with the likes of Danny Kaye, George Raft, Frank Sinatra along with his third wife, movie star Lorraine Day.

Dickson’s book delves into this baseball icon’s turbulent life using primary-source materials, interviews with those who knew Durocher and original newspaper files.
