Bob Schieffer, Jim Lehrer, Marianne Means to reminisce on JFK shooting at Nov. 4 event

Where were you when Kennedy was shot? Anyone over the age of 60 can tell you exactly what he or she was doing at the moment the news broke.

It was the seminal breaking news story between the attack on Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It's an event that has captured the imagination of Americans of all ages.

To mark the assassination's 50th anniversary, the National Press Club is bringing together on Monday, Nov. 4, three journalists who were in Dallas that memorable day a half-century earlier.

Jim Lehrer, who went on to become the anchor of the PBS "NewsHour," was a reporter for the Dallas Times Herald, the city's afternoon newspaper, writing on deadline as Kennedy arrived at the airport.

Marianne Means was the White House correspondent for the Hearst News Service and the only female reporter traveling in the president's motorcade when the shots rang out.

CBS senior Washington correspondent Bob Schieffer was a young reporter with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and tells an amazing story of how he was caught up in the events of the day.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Ballroom and will be moderated by Gil Klein, chairman of the Club's History and Heritage Committee.

Tickets are $5 for members, $10for non-members and free for students. Click here for more information and tickets.
