Air Force Secretary to address the future of American air power at 9/26 luncheon

Heather Wilson, the 24th Secretary of the U.S. Air Force, will deliver an address on “The Future of American Air Power in the 21st Century” at a National Press Club Headliners Luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Lunch will be served in the Holeman Lounge at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for Club members (members may purchase two tickets at this rate) and $39 for all other non-member tickets. The remarks by Secretary Wilson will also cover topics including plans for future space and cyber operations, and the incorporation of new technologies and weapons systems. The deadline for submitting questions in advance is 10 a.m. on the day of the luncheon.

Secretary Wilson was nominated by President Trump and sworn into office by Secretary of Defense James Mattis in May, 2017. She is responsible for the affairs of the Department of the Air Force and oversees the Air Force’s annual budget of more than $138 billion, directing the department’s strategy and policy development, risk management, weapons acquisition, technology investments and human resource management.
