Afghan ambassador to attend screening of documentary on Afghan photojournalists Tuesday, Oct. 20

Hamdullah Mohib, Afghan ambassador to the U.S., will attend “Frame by Frame," a documentary on Afghan photojournalists, that will be screened by the Washington West Film Festival in the Zenger Room Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

In the aftermath of decades of war and Taliban rule, this award-winning documentary follows the lives of four Afghan photojournalists as they struggle to re-frame Afghanistan through an emerging free press. As foreign troops and media withdraw, Afghanistan is left to stand on its own, and so are its journalists. In a world where even taking a photo was a crime, a photography revolution has now been born.

After the screening, the filmmakers of this compelling story will address the group via Skype, followed by a panel discussion of media experts moderated by Club President John Hughes.

This event is sponsored by the Events committee. It’s open to the public and registration is required. The cost is $5.00 members, $10.00 non-members. Click here for tickets.
