Bhide, who has cooked in many Washington Indian restaurants, is the author of several books and Indian cookbooks, including “The Everything Indian Cookbook,” “The Spice is Right: Easy Indian Cooking for Today,” and “Modern Spice (two editions): Inspired Indian Flavors for the Contemporary Kitchen."
The five-course Indian meal will be from a recipe compendium Bhide is providing with all copies of the novel.
Some of the dishes are central to the plot of “Karma and the Art of Butter Chicken,” including the dish in the title. There will be Indian-appropriate wines, beer, tea and Mango lassi paired with each course.
