Study Releases New Findings on Congressional Communications
Columbia Books & Information Services, publishers of the Original U.S. Congress Handbook and the Almanac of American Politics, are pleased to announce the release of the 3rd Edition of the Congressional Communications Report. This groundbreaking report was originally released in 2012 and was updated in 2014 and again this year. The report is produced in conjunction with the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University and examines what works and what doesn’t when trying to get your message to Congress. Over 1000 congressional staff and advocates were surveyed. The latest report findings include:
• Brand new stats on the use of Twitter for official business;
• A first-ever look at how congressional staff and lobbyists perceive social media bias;
• A new insert on the use of streaming video for advocacy efforts;
• Analysis of the political talk shows that dominate the Hill;
• A ranking of print and online media outlets by congressional staff.

This is the largest, most in-depth study of its kind on the communication habits of Congressional staff and the government relations community. The Report is packed with information accompanied by analysis, charts and ready to use data points that will change the way people communicate with Capitol Hill.

Dr. Rehr and a panel of experts from Capitol Hill and K Street will discuss the report findings on December 5th, 2017 at the National Press Club.
