Avoiding a Collision Course: Mutually-Assured Restraint in US-China Relations
The Institute for Communitarian Policy Studies at the George Washington University will present a framework for Mutually-Assured Restraint in US-China relations at a press conference on January 27. The presented findings will result from the deliberations of a task-force comprised of leading Chinese and American scholars and policymakers.

The task force meetings and resulting press conference will be co-chaired by Tu Weiming, Director of the Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies at Peking University, and Amitai Etzioni, University Professor and Professor of International Affairs at The George Washington University. Moderator PJ Crowley, former Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs, will report the primary findings of the group and call on various members to discuss detailed elements of the MAR framework.
