The 2018 Silver Gavel awarded-works focused on such matters as: policing, Japanese American internment during World War II, Thurgood Marshall, Guantánamo, a murder trial, and mortgage-fraud prosecution. View the complete list of winners and honorees.

Eligible entries for the 2018 Silver Gavel Awards must have been originally published, produced, or presented in 2017.

No more than one Silver Gavel is presented in each category. These awards are highly selective — this year the ABA is presenting only 6 Silver Gavels and 4 Honorable Mentions among nearly 200 entries received.
