Press Club Q & A to Explore the Future of Democrats in the States and the Pivotal Nature of 2018 in Defining What Comes Next
Washington, DC -- Next Wednesday, February 14th, People For the American Way Action Fund will host an event at the National Press Club featuring gubernatorial candidates Stacey Abrams (GA), Andrew Gillum (FL), and David Garcia (AZ) on the Democrats’ opportunity to increase power in the states in the 2018 elections. All three candidates are running in states where Republicans hold trifecta control: the governorship and both chambers of the state legislature. “2018 Governor Races The Future of Democratic Leadership and Control” will include opportunity for members of the press to pose their own questions to the candidates.
The candidates represent the future of the Democratic Party. Not only will all of the candidates achieve historic milestones in racial and ethnic minority representation, their visions for policy changes at the state level will lead Democrats forward. The candidates will discuss how taking back governorships in 2018 will change the political landscape with the next generation of Democratic leaders.
