Pogue, author of "Founding Spirits, George Washington and the Beginnings of the American Whiskey Industry" and head of preservation at Mount Vernon Estate, Museum & Gardens, presents a detailed portrayal of the origins of the American whiskey industry which includes George Washington's role as the entrepreneurial owner of one of the largest whiskey distilleries in 18th century America.
