Three scholars on the Asian region from the Center for Strategic and International Studies who discussed a wide range of timely issues including nuclear deterrence, balance of power, climate change and disaster response, with emphasis on China, India and Iran at an NPC Newsmaker event on Feb. 13, 2012. Panelists included: - Clark A. Murdock, senior adviser for the Defense and National Security Group at CSIS and director of the Project on Nuclear Issues. - Ambassador Karl F. Inderfurth, Senior Adviser and Wadhwani Chair in U.S.-India Policy Studies. He served as U.S. assistant secretary of state for South Asian affairs from 1997 to 2001. - Ernest Bower, senior adviser and director of the CSIS Southeast Asia Program and Pacific Partners Initiative. He is recognized as a leading expert on Southeast Asia and is former president of the US-ASEAN Business Council. The panel discussion was moderated by Myron Belkind, chair of NPC¹s International Correspondents Committee.
