March 10, 2011

About This Video

David S. Broder, Washington Post columnist and "Dean" of the Washington press corps, sat down in May 2010 with Bill Hickman of NPC's History & Heritage Committee to reminisce about his career, his colleagues, and his methods. As an instructor at the University of Maryland he addressed the role of education for aspiring journalists. Mr. Broder also shared his thoughts on "old politics" as well as "new arrivals" on the political stage -- Sarah Palin and The Tea Party. Mr. Broder, a longtime member and friend of The National Press Club, passed away March 9, 2011 at the age of 81. Click here for video from his Fourth Estate Award ceremony and 2005 interview.
