Governor Leavitt talked about tax policy as it relates to the Internet. He called for a three-year waiting period before taxes could be levied on electronic commerce. He said that in that time legislators should develop a more modernized and simple tax system with the Internet in mind. He also cautioned against directly taxing Internet services. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
