Adora Svitak was the first winner of the 2012 Girls State of the Union Video Contest organized by the Women’s Media Center. The WMC shines a light on girls as problem solvers and media leaders. In her acceptance speech at the National Press Club on October 11, 2012, Adora demonstrated her belief in girl power by challenging Congress to affirm feminism.
