Happy New Year!

Dear NPC Members:

On behalf of the Board of Governors, I want to extend to all of you our best wishes for a very Happy New Year – with thanks for all your support in 2014 and with renewed optimism about our profession and our 107-year-old National Press Club.

Our unparalleled professional, educational and social programs make the National Press Club so unique and so extra special. The NPC also is fortunate to have among its members professional communicators who develop their special programs that further enhance the Club.

The National Press Club also is lucky to have many volunteer members who perform services above and beyond the call of duty and who will be recognized with Vivian Awards on January 12.

Our membership and finances are strong, as the Club’s officers will detail at the annual general membership meeting on January 16, when I will “pass the gavel” to John K. Hughes, the Club’s 108th president, to whom I extend my congratulations and my very best wishes.

No other comparable organization does all that the National Press Club does in the way of hosting major speakers at its luncheons, Newsmakers and book raps, conducting professional development programs, recognizing excellence through its annual awards, raising funds for scholarships through the National Press Cub Journalism Institute, and putting a spotlight on international culture.

Above all, we are a powerful, shining beacon for press freedom worldwide.

Happy 2015 to everyone!

Thank you.
