W.Va attorney general joined by clear air and utilities experts to update on legal challenge to Obama's Clean Power Plan, May 23

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey will discuss the rapidly evolving legal challenge to the Obama Administration’s Clean Power Plan at a Newsmaker news conference on Mon., May 23, at 3 p.m., in the Club’s Bloomberg Room.

Just this week, the D.C. Circuit, scheduled to hear arguments in the case in early June, took the unusual step of bypassing an initial three-judge panel hearing for an en banc hearing in September. It is a step that has only happened once before and, when coupled with the never-before issued Supreme Court stay of the Clean Power Plan, has highlighted the high stakes in this case.

Morrisey, who has coordinated a coalition of 30 states opposing the rule, will be joined by former EPA Air Office head Jeff Holmstead, now an industry attorney representing the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) in the case, and utility policy analyst Christine Tezak of ClearView Energy. Veteran E&E News utility reporter Rod Kuckro will moderate.

Like all Newsmakers events, this news conference is open to credentialed media and NPC members, free of charge. No advance registration is required.
