A session focusing on iPhone reporting that was to be conducted by WTOP reporter and iPhone whiz Neal Augenste at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, has been canceled.
Learn what iPhone reporting is, and what equipment is needed; how to turn a iPhone into a microphone; how to record and share audio; the basics of shooting video; and how to create content on mobile, for mobile. The session is expected to include suggested apps and resources, a hands-on walk through and time for questions and answers.
Augenstein is the technology editor and reporter with WTOP-FM and wtop.com, an all-news radio station in Washington. He started as a general-assignment reporter 18 years ago and in February 2010 became the first major-market reporter to do all his field reporting on an iPhone.
One of Neal’s earlier iPhones is part of the Newseum’s permanent collection, in recognition of his work leading the way in mobile journalism. He trains other journalists how to harness the power of the phone, and blogs about the latest ways to cover news-on-the-go.
