Women as sources, women in journalism: Panel discussion on May 12

Using women as sources for stories and the challenges women face in journalism will be the topic of a panel discussion at the National Press Club's Bloomberg Room on Thursday, May 12.

This event is free and open to the public, though attendees must RSVP for tickets here. The discussion will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Former Club President and Bloomberg News' White House correspondent Angela Greiling Keane will moderate the discussion. It will feature Kate McCarthy, director of the Women's Media Center's WMC - She Source, a directory on women experts; Christi Parson, correspondent for the Los Angeles Times and the immediate past president of the White House correspondents association; and Maria Teresa Kumar, president of Voto Latino and an Emmy-nominated contributor at MSNBC.

Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions at the event, which is also part of the newswriting curriculum for the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies journalism program.
