Women’s Groups to Send Congress “Our Bodies, Ourselves”

"Our Bodies, Ourselves" was named by the Library of Congress as one of 88 books that shaped America, and now, some prominent women health advocates want to make sure that every member of Congress has a copy. They are concerned that policymakers need better information about women’s health and reproductive issues in making policy. At a Newsmaker at 1 p.m. Monday Oct. 22, in the Murrow Room, Christy Turlington Burns, model and founder of Every Mother Counts, Judy Norsigian, executive director of Our Bodies Ourselves, and Vivian Pinn, the former head of NIH’s Office of Research on Women’s Health, will explain their new initiative, and their efforts to inform women voters.
