Wife, lawyer to discuss Alan Gross case at Nov. 30 Newsmaker

The case of Alan Gross, a U.S. Agency for International Development subcontractor who remains in a Cuban prison, will be the subject of Newmaker on Friday, Nov. 30. Gross' wife, Judy, and their lawyer, Jared Genser, will speak.

Gross was arrested in Cuba while working on connecting the Jewish community to the Internet and was convicted and sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment for “actions against the independence or territorial integrity of the state.” Since his imprisonment, Gross has lost more than 100 pounds, and he and his family say he has been denied appropriate diagnostic care and treatment for a growth behind his shoulder.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. in the Zenger Room.
