An expert panel of regulators, industry voices and advocates will debate what is still to come under national health reform — and what should happen next -- at a National Press Club Newsmakers news conference Monday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. in the Zenger Room.
While the Affordable Care Act exchanges, online marketplaces for health insurance, are mostly up and running, issues from Medicaid expansion to the Health Insurance Tax and beyond will be in focus in Congress, in the states and on the campaign trail in 2014 and 2016. Panelists examining these issues will be:
- Joel Ario, former director of the Office of Health Insurance Exchanges at the Department of Health & Human Services;
- Brian Atchinson, president and CEO of PIAA, an insurance industry trade association;
- Christina Postolowski, senior policy analyst for Young Invincibles, an advocacy group for young people in the health-care debate;
- Ryan Young, senior director of federal government affairs for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America.
