Walters, Albright, Cohen to Roast Amanpour Nov. 21

Broadcasting legend Barbara Walters, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen will toast and roast Christiane Amanpour, the National Press Club's 2008 Fourth Estate Award winner, at the dinner in her honor on Nov. 21 at the Club.

"I'm thrilled that three such distinguished roasters will be joining us to help honor Christiane," said NPC President Sylvia Smith. "We knew this was going to be a memorable night. But with a broadcasting pioneer, a former secretary of state and a distinguished columnist joining us, we know that this dinner will be really special."

Priority seating for the dinner is available for members only through Oct. 1, at which point the remaining tickets will be available both to members and the general public.

Each NPC member is entitled to two tickets at the member price of $85 each; non-member tickets are $125 apiece. Reservations can be made by filling out the form on the NPC web site here. Reservations can also be made at the NPC reservation line at (202) 662-7501.

Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library at the National Press Club, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing timely research to journalists and media specialists and to giving media professionals the training they need to keep their skills sharp in these changing times.

The National Press Club bestows its Fourth Estate Award annually to an individual who has achieved distinction for a lifetime of contributions to American journalism.
