U.N. Secretary-General to speak at NPC dinner April 16

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will speak at a National Press Club dinner Thursday evening, April 16.

Ban, who succeeded Kofi Annan in 2007 and won a re-election in 2011, will become the sixth UN secretary-general to speak at the Club.

The event will follow the typical National Press Club luncheon format, except that it will be a dinner. The event will begin with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. Club members wishing to attend the reception must RSVP to [email protected] 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. Dinner tickets are required for admission to the reception.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 7 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 8 p.m.

The dinner is open only to National Press Club members and their guests. National Press Club members may purchase up to 10 tickets, two at the $23 member price and eight at the $37 general admission price. Credentialed media may cover with ID.
