Toastmasters meets Monday, Sept. 26, 7p.m. in NPC's McClendon Room

Practice different speaking styles –- extemporaneous and planned, humorous and serious –- and develop your leadership skills at Toastmasters at the National Press Club.

The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, and is open to Press Club members and the public. Toastmasters meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month. The Oct. 10 meeting has been moved to Oct. 17 due to the federal holiday on Oct. 10.

Toastmasters also serves as a platform to practice delivering a policy piece or other technical speech. You’ll be amazed at the things people do and know.

Recent stories included precision flying a helicopter from Maine to Virginia –- in bad weather, no less -- and how a friendship developed when a young waitress introduced herself to Maya Angelou, who was dining in a restaurant.

If you like a good story and want to expand your own talents, please come and be our guest and see what Toastmasters is all about.
