A Thin Mint for your thoughts: America's head Girl Scout to speak at NPC luncheon

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts of the USA, Girl Scouts CEO Anna Maria Chavez will speak at a National Press Club Luncheon on Wednesday, May 30.

Today, Girl Scouts is the largest leadership development organization for girls in the world. Research shows that 61% of girls are either ambivalent about leadership or say it's not important to them at all, so Girl Scouts is working on a new goal to reach gender-balanced leadership in one generation. Fewer than 17% of senators, representatives and governors are women, and even fewer are Fortune 500 CEOs.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $19 for Press Club members, $30 for guests of members, and $37 for general admission. To reserve tickets, please e-mail [email protected] or call 202-662-7501. Tickets must be paid for at time of reservation.

To submit a question in advance, put GIRL SCOUTS in the subject line and email to [email protected] before 10 a.m. on the day of the luncheon.
