April 4, 2014 | By Gil Klein | firstname.lastname@example.org
Two Supreme Court justices, Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, will join host Marvin Kalb to talk about the First Amendment as well as the origins and contemporary meaning of freedom on the Kalb Report on April 17.
The program starts promptly at 6 p.m., an earlier start than previous Kalb Report tapings.
Admission is free but limited. Club members can register online. For questions about reserving tickets, please call 202-662-7501.
One 45-word sentence sets out the basic freedoms that define American democracy – freedom of religion, speech, the press, assembly and to petition the government. Kalb will explore with Scalia and Ginsburg the Court’s role in interpreting those freedoms. The program will give a rare behind-the-gavel look at the court’s inner workings.
