Singer Natalie Cole leads fight against Hepatitis C, Oct. 19 luncheon

Grammy-award winning entertainer Natalie Cole, daughter of singing legend Nat King Cole, will address a National Press Club luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Cole, diagnosed with chronic Hepatitis C in 2008, is lending her voice to Merck and the American Liver Foundation’s national public health initiative, Tune In to Hep C.

Cole will visit Washington to meet with leading patient advocates and encourage others to take action against chronic Hepatitis C.

Hepatitis C is a liver ailment often referred to as the “silent disease” because it can be in the body for decades without apparent symptoms. An estimated 3.2 million Americans have Hepatitis C, though many are unaware they have it.

This event will be held in the Holeman Lounge and limited to Club members plus one guest.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. with the speech beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $18 for Club members and $29 for guests of members.

To reserve tickets, please e-mail [email protected] or call 202-662-7501. Tickets must be paid for at time of reservation.
