Singer James Taylor to headline Club Luncheon Dec. 7

Singer James Taylor is scheduled to speak at a Club Luncheon on Friday, Dec. 7.

Taylor, a singer-songwriter and guitarist, is a five-time Grammy Award winner. His first breakthrough hit came in 1970 with "Fire and Rain," and he performed at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., in September.

He was inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2000. He is a recipient of the National Medal of Arts and the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Government.

The luncheon begins at 12:30 p.m., with Taylor scheduled to speak at 1. Tickets are $19 for Club members, $30 for guests of members, and $37 for general admission. To reserve tickets, please e-mail [email protected] or call 202-662-7501. Tickets must be paid for at time of reservation.
